Tax Eight Amendment

Death and taxes are said to be the only sure things in life but interestingly, Jesus had a slightly different take on the subject. In Matthew 17:24-27, Jesus asked Peter who kings taxed, their sons or strangers? Peter replied that kings taxed strangers rather than their sons, to which Jesus replied, “Then the sons are free.

So, for the sons at least, the only sure thing in life is death, not death and taxes.

This is not to say we shouldn’t pay taxes – we need the services government provides and since it doesn’t have any separate source of revenue, it needs to levy taxes. We need to pay some taxes to provide funding for the military, border security, roads, law enforcement, and other minimal services that can only be provided by the government but this time, let’s do it the right way. The right way starts with the Bible.

Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine. [Proverbs 3:9-10]

The first fruits of all your increase mean we tithe before paying taxes, otherwise, we’re saying the government is more important than God. The very fact government demands taxes before we get our paycheck, which means they get their cut before we can tithe, demonstrates that the government does in fact believe it’s more important than God. When anything is more important or higher than God, it becomes an idol.

Therefore, we need to replace the 16th Amendment with a new Amendment that lowers taxes to a reasonable level (for us, not the government) and puts God first. It needs to be explicit about what the government can and can’t do and it needs to have draconian punishments for any government official who tries to violate it.

Text of Proposed Amendment

Section 1. The intent of this article of Amendment is to reduce taxes to a Biblical level that honors God before government and prevents government from spending money it has not collected and does not have in hand.

Section 2. The sixteenth article of Amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed. All laws and regulations dependent on it, as well as all those which have been adjudicated to be dependent on it, are hereby repealed in their entirety. All government agencies created or used to collect taxes under the 16th Amendment are hereby eliminated; their personnel fired, their buildings and property sold at auction, and all files held by them destroyed by burning in public fires. All taxes, penalties, interest, fees, asset forfeiture or seizure or impounding or freezing, and withholding’s of any and all kinds are hereby repealed in the United States and all its territories and possessions, in all the States and all the Counties and Cities in all the States.

All existing outstanding taxes owed, along with all penalties, interest, and fees in the United States and all its territories and possessions, in all the States and all the Counties and Cities in all the States, shall immediately be forgiven upon ratification of this Amendment.

Section 3. A sales tax equal to eight percent of the final sale price of all goods sold shall be levied at the seller’s physical location at the time and point of the final sale to the final buyer. The City, County, State, and United States governments having jurisdiction over the seller’s physical location shall each receive an equal portion of the tax collected. The tax shall be collected by the smallest government closest to the seller then distributed to the rest.

No exemptions from paying this tax shall be allowed anywhere, at any time, for any reason. The United States government, State governments, County governments, and City governments shall pay this tax.

Section 4. All goods imported into the United States shall be additionally taxed at the point of entry of the goods sold into the United States. The amount of the import tax shall be established by Congress, which shall then be collected and distributed as provided in Section 2 of this Amendment.

Section 5. All inheritance and all goods intended to be introduced into the human body by any means whatsoever, and medical devices that are worn, such as prescription glasses and hearing aids, as well as all labor and services shall be forever exempt from all taxes of any kind in the United States and all its territories and possessions, in all the States and all the Counties and Cities in all the States.

Section 6. All government fees, as well as all value-added taxes, shall be forever prohibited in the United States and all its territories and possessions, in all the States and all the Counties and Cities in all the States.

Section 7. The United States shall not spend any monies except those tax revenues which have been collected and are currently in hand, except during a time when Congress shall have declared War against a Foreign Enemy and only until the Enemy surrenders or is defeated. The States, Counties, and Cities shall not spend any monies except those tax revenues which have been collected and are currently in hand.

Section 8. All fines, as punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been convicted after due process of law, shall be used only for restitution to those who have been the victims of crime. The cost of administering the funds shall come only from the sales tax created by this Amendment.

Section 9. Within 30 days of the ratification of this Amendment, the Federal Reserve Bank shall be disbanded and all gold in its possession shall be returned to the United States. Within 365 days of the ratification of this Amendment, all United States money shall be backed by physical gold at the rate of one hundred dollars to one ounce of gold, and physical gold shall be an accepted as money in the United States and all its territories and possessions, in all the States and all the Counties and Cities in all the States for payment of all debts public and private. All existing loans and monetary debts, public and private, shall be recalculated and adjusted from the value of pre-Amendment dollars to the value of gold-backed dollars. Refusal to accept physical gold or physical gold-backed dollars for any payment shall constitute Treason against the United States and shall be punishable by death by firing squad.

Immediately upon dissolution of the Federal Reserve Bank, it shall become an act of Treason, punishable by death by firing squad, to establish, or try to establish, a National Bank for the United States of America.

In all Cases arising under this Amendment, the nine judges of the supreme Court, and the judges of all inferior courts shall be guided by the intent of this Amendment and the wording therein. They shall not consider any foreign law in these Cases. Violation of this requirement shall constitute Treason against the United States and shall be punishable by death by firing squad.

The actions of any public servant, whether elected, appointed, or employed, who violates or attempts to violate or conspires to violate this Amendment, shall constitute Treason against the United States and shall be punishable by death by firing squad.

All firing squads referenced by this Amendment shall be composed of private citizens exercising their individual Second Amendment right to keep and bear Arms, who volunteer or are selected at random. The private citizens shall use only their privately owned weapons and the body of the deceased shall be immediately cremated without medical examination other than to verify death.

Section 10. Congress shall have the power to enforce this Amendment by appropriate legislation.

A Long Hard Fight

We can’t kid ourselves that it will be an easy fight. It won’t. The Left, the media, and the government (but I’m repeating myself) will fight tooth and nail to oppose it. We must do the same.

It starts by spreading this proposed Amendment far and wide to everyone you know. Copy-and-paste it everywhere on every social media you can find. Email it to all your family and friends. Print it out and give copies to every business owner you meet, from the owner of a Mom-and-Pop store to the manager of the biggest big-box retailer in town. Send it all your Representatives and Senators. Do the same at the state level, county level, and city hall.

Then, when you’ve done all that, start over and do it all again.

As UCLA Bruins football coach Henry Sanders once said, “Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing.”

Let's win this one!
