Tax Eight Amendment

Published May 30, 2020

Death and taxes are said to be the only sure things in life but interestingly, Jesus had a slightly different take on the subject. In Matthew 17:24-27, Jesus asked Peter who kings taxed, their sons or strangers? Peter replied that kings taxed strangers rather than their sons, to which Jesus replied, “Then the sons are free.

So, for the sons at least, the only sure thing in life is death, not death and taxes.

This is not to say we shouldn’t pay taxes – we need the services government provides and since it doesn’t have any separate source of revenue, it needs to levy taxes. But there are exceptions to every man-made rule. Where there are exceptions, there is also room for change.

It’s time to change the tax laws in America and the COVID-19 “crisis” is the perfect time to do it. Never let a serious crisis go to waste, remember? Let’s use Rahm Emanuel’s words against the Leftists who enjoy cranking up your taxes. We can put it this way;

A lack of personal money, caused by confiscatory over-taxation has left the American people, especially Americans of color, powerless to buy the personal protective equipment needed to protect themselves and their children from the highly infectious COVID-19 virus, therefore we have to repeal the 16th Amendment to keep from killing people.”

Or perhaps . . .

If you dare to oppose repealing the 16th Amendment, it’s because you hate children.”

Or words to that effect. Anything that lays a guilt trip on the Left will do.

In the meantime, we do need to pay some taxes to provide funding for the military, border security, roads, law enforcement, and other minimal services that can only be provided by the government but this time, let’s do it the right way. The right way starts with the Bible.

Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine. [Proverbs 3:9-10]

The first fruits of all your increase mean we tithe before paying taxes, otherwise, we’re saying the government is more important than God. The very fact government demands taxes before we get our paycheck, which means they get their cut before we can tithe, demonstrates that the government does in fact believe it’s more important than God. When anything is more important or higher than God, it becomes an idol.

Therefore, we need to replace the 16th Amendment with a new Amendment that lowers taxes to a reasonable level (for us, not the government) and puts God first. It needs to be explicit about what the government can and can’t do and it needs to have draconian punishments for any government official who tries to violate it.

Text of Proposed Amendment

Section 1. The sixteenth article of Amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed. All laws and regulations dependent on it, as well as all those which have been adjudicated to be dependent on it, are hereby repealed in their entirety. All taxes, fees, and withholdings of any and all kinds are hereby repealed in the United States and all its territories and possessions, in all the States and all the Counties and Cities in all the States.

Section 2. A sales tax equal to eight percent of the final sale price of all goods sold shall be levied at the seller's physical location at the time and point of the final sale to the final buyer. The City, County, State, and United States governments having jurisdiction over the seller’s physical location shall each receive an equal portion of the tax collected. The tax shall be collected by the smallest government closest to the seller then distributed to the rest. No exemptions from paying this tax shall be allowed anywhere, at any time, for any reason.

Section 3. All goods imported into the United States shall be additionally taxed at the point of entry of the goods sold into the United States. The City, County, State, and United States governments having jurisdiction over the point of entry shall each levy a 1% import tax, which shall be collected and distributed as provided in Section 2 of this article.

Section 4. All inheritance and all goods intended to be introduced into the human body by any means whatsoever, as well as all labor and services shall be forever exempt from all taxes of any kind in the United States and all its territories and possessions, in all the States and all the Counties and Cities in all the States.

Section 5. All government fees, as well as all value-added taxes, shall be forever prohibited in the United States and all its territories and possessions, in all the States and all the Counties and Cities in all the States.

Section 6. The United States shall not spend any monies except those tax revenues which are currently in hand, except during a time when Congress shall have declared War against a Foreign Enemy and only until the Enemy surrenders or is defeated. The States, Counties, and Cities shall not spend any monies except those tax revenues which are currently in hand.

Section 7. Within thirty days of the ratification of this article, the Federal Reserve Bank shall be disbanded and all gold in its possession shall be returned to the Department of the Treasury. Within one year of the ratification of this article, all United States money shall be backed by physical gold at the rate of one hundred dollars to one ounce of gold, and physical gold shall be an accepted as money in the United States and all its territories and possessions, in all the States and all the Counties and Cities in all the States for payment of all debts public and private. Refusal to accept gold or gold-backed dollars for any payment shall constitute Treason against the United States.

Section 8. All fines, as punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been convicted after due process of law, shall be used only for restitution to those who have been the victims of crime. The cost of administering the funds shall come only from the sales tax created by this Amendment

Section 9. Any public servant whether elected, appointed, or employed, who shall have been convicted after due process of law, of violating or attempting or conspiring to violate this article shall be sentenced to death by firing squad composed of private citizens selected at random. The private citizens shall use their own privately owned weapons and the body of the deceased shall be immediately cremated without medical examination other than to verify death.

Section 10. Congress shall have the power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

A Long Hard Fight

We can’t kid ourselves that it will be an easy fight. It won’t. The Left, the media, and the government (but I’m repeating myself) will fight tooth and nail to oppose it. We must do the same.

It starts by spreading this proposed Amendment far and wide to everyone you know. Copy-and-paste it everywhere on every social media you can find. Email it to all your family and friends. Print it out and give copies to every business owner you meet, from the owner of a Mom-and-Pop store to the manager of the biggest big-box retailer in town. Send it all your Representatives, Senators, and President Trump. Do the same at the state level, county level, and city hall.

Then, when you’ve done all that, start over and do it all again.

As UCLA Bruins football coach Henry Sanders once said, “Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing.”

Let's win this one!
